Apples and Oranges

Apples and oranges. That’s what I'm eating all day. And an egg. One egg and the leftover of an old loaf of bread. Apples and oranges are two things that cannot be compared because they’re just plain different. Tomorrow my ex is coming back to the city after 6 months.

If we’re gonna see each other or not is unclear, but she needs a place to sleep. Apples and oranges. That’s what I’ve been eating the whole day and that’s the only thing I’m gonna eat until tomorrow. Call it self-amusement, diet, whatever.

The traits we show on the surface are usually opposite to our true nature. For example, hot girls with an overly strong anti-slut mechanism have usually had their fair share of goin' around the block before turning this way.

Recent global and personal events have almost overwhelmed me. A part of me observes physical responses to stress while being completely unaffected. Body feels sorrow, mind is a speeding train, but when I sit down to observe I realize my soul is completely calm. Soul says it’s all good.

Most of us use to let toughness become a burden. Here’s some advice: when I close my eyes and listen long enough, I feel nothing except it’s all an illusion. Earthly events are but a mask to what’s really going on – a Feeling within that we project and create the universe with.
Is that feeling just ours or does it serve something bigger?

Red Dawn

While my collective consciousness is crying “Gevalt!” because of current events, I’m turning the volume off. Remembering that it's only when we're happy that we can really become useful. What good would it do to rue what we cannot change?

Focus again on peace and not war. Sometimes we have to take extreme measures to be in a positive place for the greater good of all.

Yesterday was that, today and on is this. Being healthy is worth it! Open up your Nadis, be nice to your-Self. Nadis are the subtle electrical channels in our body through which consciousness and energy flow.

Lend an ear to the wonder around you and continue listening. Converse with strangers just for the sake of fun. If you need me, I’ll be sitting in the red ol' café on 6th @ Kits. Today and tomorrow is a good day. Tomorrow is a time line. Tomorrow and on, yesterday's gone.

Being a Human Being

Think of a simple good deed you can do for someone without expecting anything in return… Think what that good deed may be and how greatly it would benefit the other person. Now think how fun this simple act of selflessness would be, rather than doing that other thing you were planning on... Now pick up the phone, call this person and ask if they’d like you to come over and help them sometime this week with that thing which for you is so easy, but for them takes months to pin down!

Shiver In the Light

Calling her Sweetheart; soaking her warmth and humility in. Giving her what she craves for. Sharing free-will. Dancing in the spot-light by staying in one spot. She has wings to spin around you. A couple shares deepest intimacy in a dense crowd. “I like the stuff you’re made of.” She knew my truth was strong.

There was a small public park on the way home from school when we were young. In this park there was a bench. On this bench we sometimes used to sit and smoke Camel cigarettes. There are corners in the heart that own their spot in time. Magic from a scent. “Your self-perception is incredible” I told her later, when even more color came into her face. And we continued dancing.

The challenge with smart, independent women is they usually think they’re worth more than they are and forget the greatest value they possess: being truly and completely graceful. Remind her how expensive this value is. “Did you ever stand and shiver, just because you were looking at a river.” ~ Ramblin’ Jack Elliott

Soul Soup for Authentic-Selves

A good friend of mine, his 11 year old daughter and I were watching Gone With The Wind aaalllll Saturday long. Remind me why we did it to ourselves…? Oh yeah, it’s epic.

As most of you know, the movie is about a spoiled Southern girl in the Civil War era who goes through a truckload of traumatic experiences and doesn’t change. If you can hold your seat for nearly 4 hours, ignore harshly rooted racism, cheesiness and previous decades' propaganda, it is a marvelous film!

Put life’s experiences into a big cauldron of soup. Soul soup. It takes courage to hold each ingredient with the proper Love and dignity and to view it purely as another pattern of sharing and joy. Quite often rejection is good enough of a reason to hide ourselves behind mindless social masks.

If you could choose to be the very same person you were as a kid; a complete being, free of any limiting thought, your “authentic-Self”, who would you be today? If you are this person, baby, you’ve done an awesome job. I’m sure you radiate goodness and freedom and people love you.

Making an epic story into a hit is a matter of appealing to as many social groups as possible. High concept characters however, exceed time and race. Some viewers would empathize most with the suffering Vivien Leigh. Other would like Clark Gable better, a man who knows the meaning of Keep The Frame.

One of the greatest challenges of today’s society is to put the good of others ahead of our own. The fact is that our joy is complete only when it comes from others. Any parent knows this.

It takes strong will to learn that criticism is human communication, not rejection. Always remember that reality is much broader than your perception and what you get is what you give. When you see a bit of yourself in every person, no one has a reason to hide their feelings.

A women sharing Love unconditionally makes a man adore the earth under her feet. His nature then forces him to learn compassion, to strive to make her laugh and bring color to her cheeks. He will even his dirty socks in the laundry room if that’s what she asks.

When people are caught up in their own suffering and selfish interests they end up alone over and over again. Today’s city trend of being “strong and complete” by yourself, loses its point when some people can’t share their life with another person completely.

It is only up to us to understand where we’re selfish and what we can do to change it. It’s only up to others to show us when we succeed.

Scarlett: Rhett, Rhett... Rhett, if you go, where shall I go? What shall I do?
Rhett Butler: Frankly, my dear, I don't give a damn.

River Of Thoughts

She's not cheap meat anymore. She's not a slave to her physical thoughts. She won’t give herself away unless a man is a real pro or he swirls her mind off so bad, after proving himself repeatedly. Then in the moment something changes inside and it just happens.

I’ve learnt to perceive my mind’s non-stop thoughts as solely good; a door was opened for self-acceptance. A glimpse into the sun. To observe my own thoughts at ease.

Always know that each and every little rule you’ve made for yourself was Good. It doesn’t mean you still have to follow it. It came for a reason fitting your needs at the time and it's alright to let it go if today it serves you ill.

In ancient Hebrew there is the word “Tikkun” [Tee-koon; תיקון] = Correction; to fix something broken. It refers to the physical and the spiritual worlds. It’s the work of the soul. then there is “Tikkun O’lam” = Correction of the world.

The world can be corrected only by its numberless particles, which is us, people. It's done with good deeds to our fellowman and it starts with clarity of the mind and selflessness. Accepting one's-self means accepting each other.

I Love my thoughts. They’re healthy and vital and pure, and they’re there for a reason and I give myself permission to give them wing. Sooner or later they’ll disappear, floating down the river.

Might as well give them the respect they deserve; for good relations, you know. Hand on heart; I want them in my life. I want them to recieve expression in their most glorious and awesome way.

If You Can't Fall Asleep

Sometimes I'm a shepherd keeping all scattered thoughts in the fenced area of the mind-meadows.

People I can do good to: …Everyone around me! How happy my yoga teachers were to see me these past few weeks. How good it made them feel to witness a positive change in someone they've known for quite a few months now.

It’s raining like good ol' Vancouver again. I let myself gain strength by sleeping two days in a row and enjoying the fruits of my labor. I’ve been contemplating Love and emotions a lot lately. Actually, focusing on the latter is a bit challenging when your brain is staying on a jet plane. I'm sure it's for a reason and I have no problem with it at all.
Then I recalled what it said in the Wizard of Oz: “A heart is not judged by how much you Love, but by how much you’re loved by others.” I must argue/ add: “A heart is judged by how much it’s capable, not to judge but to Love any wonder the universe throws at him; some define those wonders as challenges, for us it is an elevating force.”

Share The Field

It is up to us men to lead the world. Women set up goals men have to achieve. Mind you – I never said women shouldn’t lead; each gender is to use its own special gifts.

As modern women turn “socially vegan” (don’t need men to bring “bread” home), the next goal for men is to become sensitive and sophisticated; otherwise they won’t get sex. Women want sex no less than men, they just have to pretend men want it more or men will never grow.

A real man knows how to lead by having others want things he initially suggested. A real man also knows to respect and share the lead with others. 50 years ago a girl appreciated a guy who doesn’t make a move on the 1st date while today many girls are disappointed by that.

Many women I discuss the subject with say guys today don’t know how to be real men. I wonder what brought them the idea that guys in the past knew how to be “real man”. The only thing different today from past decades is the image of how people and relationships should be. In other words, we know too well how we don’t want things to be.

I believe that everyone wants romance. I believe that everyone longs for what’s called Love. Men in the past surely had to build sexual communication while courting women (if it wasn’t a fixed marriage or a rape). Truth be told, without modern media people were much more naïve about that communication.

I have the outmost appreciation for all people who are brave enough to explore uncontrollable love that exceeds any mental images. There's enough room for all of us.
Brains food: Put aside Hollywood’s Rom-Coms; when it comes to reality, does ego always have to be involved?
