Shiver In the Light

Calling her Sweetheart; soaking her warmth and humility in. Giving her what she craves for. Sharing free-will. Dancing in the spot-light by staying in one spot. She has wings to spin around you. A couple shares deepest intimacy in a dense crowd. “I like the stuff you’re made of.” She knew my truth was strong.

There was a small public park on the way home from school when we were young. In this park there was a bench. On this bench we sometimes used to sit and smoke Camel cigarettes. There are corners in the heart that own their spot in time. Magic from a scent. “Your self-perception is incredible” I told her later, when even more color came into her face. And we continued dancing.

The challenge with smart, independent women is they usually think they’re worth more than they are and forget the greatest value they possess: being truly and completely graceful. Remind her how expensive this value is. “Did you ever stand and shiver, just because you were looking at a river.” ~ Ramblin’ Jack Elliott
